This is my first entry for the 2010 Washington Ironman blog. For those of you new to the Washington Ironman I (Elaine) and my husband Brad are the promoters. We have been promoting physique shows for the past 29 years and LOVE what we do!! The last 4 weeks before a show I step up my own training and diet so I can relate to what the competitors are going through. This week I decided to hardcore diet and train the whole month of June so I could be in constant contest preparation mode as I do the ground work for the Ironman. Todays blog will be devoted to information on the show but make sure to check back because I always post updates to the show and my opinion on everything else "physique" because, well, I am the one who writes this blog! The 2010 Washington Ironman is a one day event, Saturday October 2nd, and will host Bodybuilding, Fitness, Figure & Bikini Championships. The Washington Ironman will take place in the beautiful Snoqualmie Casino Events Center, 37500 SE North Bend Way, Snoqualmie, WA 98065. Prejudging for all competitors begins at 10:00am. The Bikini show Finals are included with the prejudging $20.00 general admission price and will begin at noon. The evening show Finals for Bodybuilding, Fitness & Figure begin at 6:00pm and are $40.00, $35.00 & $30.00 reserved seating. You can download it and postal mail it in or you can call us at 425-949-7320 and register over the phone. All registered athletes receive a one year's subscription to Ironman Magazine, a competitor bag and an official contest T-shirt! The entry fee is only $60.00 if you register before September 23, 2010. After that is goes to $100.00. The competitor awards are fabulous! The top five in each class, plus the Overalls receive an exquisite Neil's Anderson sculpture. I have 2 showcased on my living room mantle - they are just that beautiful! In addition to their trophies, Fitness, Figure & Bikini competitors and the Overalls are awarded gorgeous rhinestone tiaras! The Washington Ironman is a drug tested National Qualifier with a two-year drug testing period from the date of the show. Testing will be conducted for anabolic steroids, growth hormone, clenbuterol and prescription diuretics.
