Alright so I found something that I HAVE to share with you guys! I was going through all of my old emails!! I have a terrible (yet sometimes useful) habit of saving all my emails so I have MANY pages of old emails. Well, I figured it would be a good time to go through and clean out my INBOX. Well, I came across a powerful email that proves the importance of goal-setting and WRITING down and reviewing your goals frequently. The part of the email that I'm going to share with you was written September 4th, 2008, a month before my first show. So here it is... 3. This amazes me because a year later I DID accomplish my goal -- I placed 1st at the 2009 WA Ironman!! My old trainer, Brent, made me write out my goals on a consistent basis and he taught me to stay focused on these goals. So that's what I did. I wrote out my goal for a year down the road and I specifically stated HOW I was going to achieve that goal....and guess what?! I accomplished exactly what I wanted to accomplish. Boy was all that goal-setting worth it! This shows precisely the power of setting goals and writing them down!! Put together an online file or a journal of all of your goals...Write them down SPECIFICALLY! Write down exactly what you will do to make those goals come to life! Setting a goal is not nearly enough. You must put yourself into action and determine HOW you are going to make it happen. Then focus on that each and every day until you finally achieve the goal. So I've been staying focused on my training/prep. My cardio the last few days has been awesome. I'm busting my butt right now and continue to improve as each week passes! I'm still dreadfully sore from my back session on weds! Let's just say it hurts to lift up my arms because my lats are so sore!! I think this is the most sore that I have ever been -- I'm most definitely taking all of my glutamine and needed protein right now to help my back muscles recover! Today I'm meeting Peter at Snap for shoulders!! Little by little, I'm building that beautiful CAP. So that's about it for now... I'm excited for Tanji's workshop tomorrow -- It should be a BLAST and I cannot wait to see all the girls! It's always so great to meet all the women competing and hear their story! Everyone has their own journey and their own reason for competing and I love getting to know where everyone is at in their journey. Stay Strong. Stay Focused. Let the Lord's Light SHINE!
